Haikus don’t have to rhyme. They are simple poems that comes in a rhythm. The first line with 5 syllables, the second line 7 syllables, and the last line 5 syllables again. It is a poem with three lines. 5, 7, 5. Β 5, 7, 5.
A magical time
Filled with happiness and joy
Christmas comes today
It is Christmas Eve
Santa Claus comes with presents
“Ho, ho, ho,”Β he says

Cool! When I was in Gr. 4 (A year ago) My teacher also made us write haikus! This year, just last week, we wrote haikus again!

Glad to hear. I am sounding old but I only started using computers around the time I was your age. There was no email yet only some games and educational games. We could only correspond via letters with stamps. It was fun for us though just as this is fun for you now. We also had to call people on the phone because there was no texting! π
